Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh Expressway Expansion Project: Selected Contractor Ready to Start Construction August 19, 2025

VEC’s bidding officer said that the project has a total investment of VND 14,945.24 billion, the implementation period is from 2025 – 2027, including 2 main construction packages, 1 construction supervision consulting package, implemented according to the urgent construction project, so the contractor is selected by the shortened bidding method. It is expected that the Long Thanh bridge item will be closed in December 2026 and the remaining items will be completed in March 2027. The project will use VND 6,500 billion from public investment capital, the rest is VEC’s own capital and loans from commercial banks and credit institutions. The project will carry out site clearance for the expansion to ensure the scale of the 8-10 lane route with a total land area of ​​11.99 hectares, of which about 7.85 hectares will pass through Ho Chi Minh City and about 4.14 hectares in Dong Nai province. This is a special traffic project with a highway designed at 120 km/h, with Long Thanh Bridge having a designed speed of 100 km/h.

According to the decisions approving the contractor selection results, Package XL01 Construction of the highway section Km4+00 – Km13+900 was assigned to the Consortium of Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company – Trung Chinh Trading and Construction Company Limited – Phuong Thanh Transport Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company – 368 Construction Joint Stock Company – Khang Nguyen Infrastructure Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company. The winning bid price is VND 5,573.5 billion (package price VND 5,868.112 billion), implementation period is 18 months.

Package XL02 Construction of the expressway section Km13+900 – Km25+920 was assigned to the Joint Venture of Truong Son Construction Corporation – Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation – Thang Long Corporation – Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company 368. The winning bid price was VND 4,628.967 billion (package price VND 4,872.597 billion), implementation period 17 months.

Package TVGS-HLD Construction Supervision Consulting for the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh Expressway Expansion Project was assigned to the Joint Venture of Northern Traffic Construction Design Consulting Joint Stock Company – Traffic Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 2. The winning bid price was VND 40.768 billion, lump sum contract.

Sharing with reporters, VEC officials said that on August 14, 2025, the Investor and contractors signed the contract. Immediately after signing the contract, VEC will coordinate with contractors to speed up construction commencement procedures and hand over the site soon (currently, the construction site for the expansion project has been prepared by more than 90%), the remaining part is still being actively implemented by the locality. The project will start construction on August 19, 2025, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution.
